A White Legacy - Chapter 2.3

In the last chapter of A White Legacy, Alba discovered that Mortimer had an adopted daughter, Luciana Goth, a fact which he had been hiding from Gauri, whom he was dating. Alba then told him that he needed to have a baby with Gauri so that the legacy would continue, and that's what he finally did, after refusing to woohoo with her countless times. Gauri had a somewhat easy pregnancy, and ended up giving birth to twin girls Blanche and Branwen. They both have white hair. Blanche likes yellow, while Branwen likes hot pink. And she's apparently Gauri's favourite.
And now...on with the show.

The twins' toddlerhood was the worst experience I've had to go through so far with this legacy. It was absolute hell. Sure, they seemed like little angels when they were sleeping...

...but they were actually little devils. Always needing to be fed, or a diaper change, or needing to be put in their cribs...a total nightmare.

At least I had two people instead of one to take care of them. But that didn't make it much easier. That was when I decided that Gauri wouldn't have any more kids at all. She already had two girls with white hair, what was the point of more kids anyway?
Alba did her best to help, like I said before. Teaching them all their skills would have been impossible without her.

And Gauri proved that Branwen was her clear favourite once more by rolling only wants for her, and not for Blanche.

But there were some times when she felt she just couldn't take it anymore.

The fact that Alba soon became an elder didn't help much, as she was now well past her prime.

But they preservered...

...and in the end they managed to teach the twins all of their skills on time.

And Alba finally had the time to get a much needed makeover. Seriously, white hair that turned grey? I'll never understand that.
"I hope that Xander will still find me beautiful."
Oh, I'm sure he will, Alba. He is also old now, after all. None of you is what you used to be.
*sniff*
...but I mean this in a good way.

In case you're wondering about the girls...they're absolutely adorable. And they decided to have matching hairstyles and clothes (only in different colours).
"Hey Blanche, wanna play catch?"
"Sure!"
They're also the best of friends, and do everything together. By the way, they both got the Neat trait on their child birthday.

"Xander! I had missed you so much!"
"Me too, Alba. Me too."

"You know, I still love you as much as when we first met."
"You mean the day I moved to Sunset Valley?" *giggle* "That was one wild day...I got pregnant with Gauri that night, you know."
Ah, old people love. They're as dysfunctional of a couple as ever. But still sweet.

Here is a closer look at Branwen, by the way. She looks a lot like Mortimer now that she has aged. She even has his nose.

And here is Blanche. She looks more like Gauri. But I'm still wondering who did she get those green eyes from.

"Hi Grandpa Xander! I'm Branwen! I had been wanting to meet you."
"Why hello there, Branwen. It's great to finally meet my granddaughter."
*sigh*
Why the sad face, Alba?
"Oh, nothing...I was just thinking that Xander might not live much longer. I hope he lives long enough for Blanche and Branwen to get closer to him."
I'm sure he will, don't worry.

He stayed for the night as usual. I'm really going to miss him when he goes, you know. :(

"Hey Bran, has Mom told you about the heirship?"
"Yes...I was a bit confused by it actually. Only one of us can inherit the house...I don't want that to happen! I don't want to have to stay here without you, or have to move out without you! You're my best friend, Lan."
"I...don't want that to happen either. Don't worry, we'll find a solution to that problem. I'm sure we will."
"I hope you're right."

Time passed, and one day Alba got arrested when coming home from work.
"This sucks. Who would arrest a defenseless old lady like me?"
She soon got back home, though, so there was really no reason to worry.

Gauri realized her favourite would always be Branwen and that probably would never change, but she started to bond with Blanche, and soon they were best friends.

Her job was becoming more and more time-consuming, so she tried to call Mortimer whenever she could, to keep in touch. She found out he hadn't followed her advice. His daughter Luciana was now a teenager and he remained unmarried and without a job. Oh well. She had warned him. It seemed she would have to break his heart eventually.

Both twins started to explore the galaxy with the telescope at every hour of every day like Gauri had done before them. They soon both rolled the LTW of reaching the top of the Science career track.

They were still as close as ever; these were sisters that would never fight for heirship like their mother and aunt had done.

But they still knew only one of them could be chosen. And they were still trying to find a way around that.

"Oh, Gothy, I'm so glad you could come over to see our daughters."
"They have turned into two beautiful girls. They should come and visit me sometime. Me and Luciana get lonely in that big old house."
"I'm...worried about them actually. They are inseparable, I don't know if it has to do with the fact they're twins, but...they don't even fight for heirship like me and Bianca did. Then one of them will be chosen as the heiress, and they'll both be heartbroken."
"Don't worry about that now, Gauri. Let the time pass, they'll find a solution that works for them when that time comes."

I'm pretty sure that Branwen is the craziest of the twins. She's constantly talking to herself. While I never see Blanche doing that, despite being Insane as well. I guess she just took more after Mortimer in that aspect. She's more level-headed and practical.

"Like I said, don't worry more about it. Just...promise you'll give me a call when they age. I have to go now, Gauri."
"Goodbye, Gothy. 'I'll call you."
"I love you."
"I...care a lot about you too."

The twins spent the remaning days of their childhood thinking about what they called "the heirship problem". It was in their minds all the time...

...at every moment of every day. But all things come to an end, and soon their teen birthday came around. They couldn't avoid it any longer - one of them had to be chosen as heiress.

So, it's up to you to decide now. Will the heiress be Blanche, the oldest twin? She's kind of the leader of the twins, always comforting Branwen when something is wrong. Her favourite colour is yellow, her favourite food is Autumn salad and her favourite kind of music is Indie. She has green eyes, if you can't tell from the pic. Her traits are: Artistic, Insane, Neat and Genius.

Or will it be Branwen, the youngest twin? The craziest of the two, and also Gauri's favourite. Her favourite colour is hot pink, her favourite food is Autumn salad, and her favourite kind of music is Pop. She has dark greyish eyes like Gauri. Her traits are: Friendly, Insane, Neat and Heavy Sleeper (because she grew up badly on her last birthday. Oh well).

Awesome update Jo! Er sorry I'm totally late for commenting on the last one, but oh well! I'm going to miss Xander when he goes too. That'll be very sad, but maybe Alba will go around the same time as well? I love the twins, they're so cute! I'll go vote at S2WG now ;)

Thanks, Lily! :D And that's perfectly OK, don't worry about it. It will be very sad indeed, and I already got the little pop-up message about how he's going to die that day (like happened with Bessie when Gauri was a child). I think he hasn't died yet though. Sadly, Alba is 9 or 10 sim days younger than him, and still has quite a bit of life left in her life bar. So it's unlikely she will go at the same time. :(

The twins are adorable. :) They got a really nice mix of genetics, I think.
Everyone seems to be voting for Blanche...and I'm not sure why. Is it because she is a Genius while Branwen isn't? Or is it because she didn't get Mortimer's nose? XD

Whow, I've got two updates to read at once, wee! Can't believe Gauri actually WANT to steal candies from her own child. D8

It was cute to see Alba and Xander wrinkly and old. I think old people looked more like old people in TS3. I love that picture of them sleeping together on the bed, though too bad that Xander didn't pull the covers, lol.

Anyway, it's so cool that both the twins got white hair!! Yay! It ain't going away anytime soon! I'll be putting my vote on S2WG. :)

Gauri is crazy and evil, so that kind of stuff is actually normal from her. Besides, where else would she find babies to steal candy from? XD It's much easier to just steal from your own!

They're still cute, even in their old age. I'm going to miss them so much when they're gone. :( You're right about that. TS2 elders were just...weird. TS3 elders are much more realistic looking.
That was exactly the same thing that happened when they arrived home from the hospital after Bianca was born. Alba went to sleep and Xander fell asleep on the bed, without even pulling the covers up. And sadly this was probably the last Xander/Alba moment.

It's so great that they both got the hair, isn't it? I literally danced with joy when they became toddlers and I saw that. XD Hopefully it will still show up on gen 4, and gen 5, and so on...until gen 10. Thanks for voting! ;)

Yay have finally caught up on your awsome legacy.

Xander and Alba are so cute together as elders. I'm going to miss them when the time comes for the Grimmy to come get them.

As for who to vote for to be the next heiress... it's so hard to choose... they're both great...but there can be only one so I am off to cast my vote. Looking forward to the next update when it comes out. :D

Actually Xander has already died in my game...it was so sad. I can't believe that soon Alba will go as well. :(

Sorry I'm so late in commenting. :/ I always seem to overlook your updates because you don't put a picture as a teaser like most everyone else does.

Anyways good update. :) I love the twins. They're really cute. It is sad though that they have to be separated eventually. :(

Gauri's little bit with Mortimer was funny. "I love you." "I...care a lot about you." LOL poor Mortimer. :(

Thanks. :) The twins are adorable, even though they are very different looking. They got interesting gene combinations from Gauri and Mortimer.
And yeah, it's sad. But that's the way the legacy works, so... :(

Poor Mortimer indeed. Gauri might love him deep down, but she'll never admit it to anyone, especially to him. And that's just sad.
