Actually got back yesterday morning...though between my own sleep issues, the awful jet lag and the cold I got on the plane, seems like I've been drifting around a blur of exhaustion and confusion since then. Trip was wonderful, though, I'll have to share some details when my head starts working properly again. :)
First of all, I now have a brand new laptop. Seriously, I can't get over how awesome it is (and I know I'm way too excited over it). The previous one kind of died on me, but that was not a tragedy - it was almost 6 years old, noisy, it lagged a lot and the battery hadn't been autonomous for years now.
I was supposed to get a new one for Christmas only, but the old one just did not last until then, and I needed a laptop now for college work. Of course I have checked how TS2 is in it too since I got it - I had backups done of everything, so it was not long until I could play.
I'm just not used to having good graphics. This laptop can handle cutscenes. Cutscenes! I haven't even seen one for the last 6 years or so, since the old laptop could not handle them at all. I sound and act like a kid in a candy store, it's amazing. :D
As for ATOR updates, that will have to wait until December, even if I do end up playing Randomville before then (the only house I did play was a Strangetown one).
But the inspiration for a few drabbles (writing only, no pics whatsoever) has been popping up recently. Some ideas involve characters that haven't officially appeared in the story yet, so I'm not sure if I'll post them yet. We'll see.
Also, I have not forgotten about the detailed entry concerning the most recent story arc. I promise I'll write that one of these days.

Thank you for your support, the last week has been quite difficult at times but thankfully still better than the first two horrid days. Right now I'm starting to spending more time online again (while I don't have serious college stuff starting to pile up, of course) and it is a welcome distraction. As it is playing sims just for playing (no legacies or challenge houses), reading new books, watching TV series, talking to friends about silly things, etc.
I still miss her so much, though, but, having lost two other grandparents before, I know that never goes away, it just gets more bearable with time.

First things first: cat pics
Jul. 9th, 2008 02:10 pmMost of the people who know me are well aware that I am obsessed with cats. Just looking around my desk you can find 4 or 5 cat-related things. Not mentioning the rest of the room... At least I don't have a picture of a cat as my desktop...yet.
I have 6 pets at home, and 3 of them are cats.
