More on Berni and Naomi...

So, in my last entry about them, Berni and Naomi were happily married and expecting a baby. Well, I've played 2 rotations since then and here is the result. (I know, I know, I'm way behind in the chapters, but I just can't get writing inspiration.)

They spent the first rotation being adorable together - during the few moments they were together, though, because Berni spent most of the days at work during Naomi's pregnancy.



She did end up finding a job herself (Law Enforcement, for her Captain Hero LTW) but only towards the end of her 3rd trimester.


Closer to the end of the rotation, Berni was off to work, as usual...



And of course poor Naomi had to go into labour while she was alone (a couple of hours after Berni left).


She gave birth to a little girl, Marisa Mobacy, who has her father's exact colouring. :)


Both Berni and Naomi spent the rest of the rotation doting on Marisa, they wouldn't leave her alone in her crib for even a minute. Ah, Family sims and babies...



During the second rotation, Marisa became a toddler.


She looks a lot like her father, doesn't she? Can't see much of Naomi in her. (By the way, Marisa is an Aries, 7/9/9/3/1, and has rolled Romance as her future aspiration. That will come as a shock to her happily married Family sim parents that have a 3-bolt chemistry, that's for sure.)


There was also the usual toddler training...



And close to the end of the rotation, Naomi got pregnant again.


For the unborn kid's sake, I hope he or she is also low on nice points, or else they will be relentlessly bullied by their older sister...



Around the neighbourhood, another of Jo's sims has married into the Random family. Martin Random (Lawrence and Hell's son) got married to Peachester "Peach" Wonglepong from Jo's Fair Dinkum Flamingos OWBC. He took her last name. :)




Peach currently has a job in Journalism (Media Magnate LTW), while Martin is in Law Enforcement, just like his cousin Naomi above (Captain Hero LTW).



And just like Naomi, Peach got pregnant during the first rotation.


She spent most of her pregnancy skilling...

...while her husband was either at work or spinning around in the dance sphere (he was abducted by aliens as a teen, and I really wanted an alien baby from him - haven't had one in Randomville for a long while now).


The first rotation ended while Peach was in her 3rd trimester.


So she went into labour quite early in the second rotation.


She gave birth to a girl with her colouring while Martin was still at work (I'm noticing a pattern here). I named her Opal Wonglepong after Peach's mother in Jo's OWBC - this is generation O, after all. I need O names outside the main house.


Despite not being Family sims, Martin and Peach have proved to be decent parents so far.



Just like Marisa, Opal's toddler birthday fell at the end of the second rotation (though I do believe Marisa is 1 day older than her).


She might have Peach's colouring, but her features are all Martin's. That eye shape coming all the way down from Ashley's simself, the tiny nose and mouth, sunken cheeks and strong chin - his features were identical as a toddler.
(Opal is a Virgo 8/1/9/2/6, and will in time become a Knowledge sim like her mother.)


Oh, and Martin did succeed in getting abducted via dance sphere during the last day of the 2nd rotation. (Finally.) He was apparently impregnated by one of the recessive-haired PTs, the blond one, I believe (TreyNutz's default replacement), and he is having twins, so they'll most likely be adding two green-skinned, blonde-haired, black-eyed babies to the household next rotation. :D

Eeeeeeeee! So glad I popped over to LJ before getting on with my day. I have a lot on I should be doing... but eeeeee! This is so worth the procrastination on jobs.

Berni and Naomi are adorable and marisa is a cutie, but oh dear romance. Lets hope it's of the good kind or Berni will go grey prematurely I am sure.

Peach looks lovely. I'm glad she has an actually life in your game. Aww little Opal. The eye shape may be Ashley's but the eye colour is from Tina's simself who married my founder, so from Great Grandma.

Did you dump Berni's MM skin? Because it's very dominant if you leave it on. (The one with the chest hair) It even dominates over SK4 which is why so many Mobacy's have sk1.

Sorry for the procrastination bait, Jo. XD I know what you mean, it keeps happening to me as well - shiny interesting things around the internet are procrastinators' best friends.

They might luck out and have Marisa roll a "tamer" Romance LTW, a career one instead of one involving the number 20. I'll make sure she behaves for Berni and Naomi's sake. ;)

I'm loving both Berni and Peach in my game so far, Berni has proved to be a loving (if stalky) husband and an excellent father, and while Peach might not be as overprotective, she's still a good mom to Opal and a good wife to Martin, even if they only have 1 bolt compared to Berni and Naomi's 3 (it's a relief playing them and not having the constant 3-bolt stalking, I do love my 3 bolt couples, but it gets a bit annoying sometimes!).

Yes, a lot of your OWBC sims and their descendants got Tina's eyes, didn't they? Everything about Opal can be traced back to a particular family member, I think - Peach's black hair (from Chewy) and skin tone (from him as well, right?), Tina's eye colour, Ashley's eye shape (Ashley being Opal's...great-great-grandmother, I think), Martin's (and Helled, and Gabriel's) nose and chin, and the tiny mouth that Lillian passed down (so, another great-grandmother).

I kept his skin tone, actually. I guess I thought it was just skin tone #1. It won't appear on a girl, anyway, so I don't mind much. Even if he has sons/grandsons/etc. who do get it, it will breed out eventually, I suppose. :)

If she has his skintone then she has the skin, she simply won't get the chest hair-thank goodness! ^_^ She will however pass it on. I gave the skin to my founder Al and it was still going strong on the fourth generation until I removed it in simpe. The only Mobacy to not get the skin was Alisa.

I love the way the kids have all little parts of their ancestors. :)

That's what I figured - girls get a skin tone that is apparently skin #1, boys get chest hair. Marisa (and her unborn sibling) will have a Maxis skin tone as recessive though, so that might make it easier to breed out? Not sure. Though this legacy will be going on for 12 more generations, so, even if Berni and Naomi's line doesn't carry on until then, they will have at least a couple of generations of descendants - enough to breed out Berni's custom skin if their descendants marry sims with Maxis skin tones/other custom skin tones.

It's pretty cool to see so many Randoms, Wonglepongs and simselves in Opal - in some sims, no matter their age, it's quite difficult to tell which feature came from which ancestor. Not in her case. (I admit I like to analyze sim genetics maybe a tad too much... XD)
Berni himself takes after his mother in most features, right? I remember that Ray-Ray was the one with the distinctive nose...or was the nose Vincent's passed down from his mother? Maybe a mix of both? Either way, I remember he got his mother's eyes...and maybe her eye shape and brow too.
As for Peach, she takes more after Opal than after Chewy, at least in my opinion. Her siblings look more like him, and not only because of the elf ears. She has this "face #2-ish look" while not actually being a face #2 sim, and I remember Opal having the same look, only with different hair and eye colours.

You're a lot better at spotting where things come from then I am. Brows?-not a clue! ^_^ I like that you can though. I think Berni's nose came from his father passed down from his mother. Again I'm bad at telling what nose on females translates to huge ones on boys, but I think it was hers.

I'm only good at spotting distinctive features in (some) sims because I've been doing that for a long while now. XD Practice makes perfect. And I've looked at those features for so long in the House of Fallen Trees line that, by now, I know where everything comes from.
Most brows are not that distinctive, it's much easier when they are "evil" looking ones - like the ones Bellatrix passed down to Cassandra, which got passed down to Gabriel, and then to Helled. I think all of Helled's kids got them, but it's harder to notice because all of them got a different eye shape.

Yes, Berni's grandmother did have the same face template as that one headmaster (I think his name is Korey in the English version of the game). All of her kids took after her, they all have that distinctive look. My only problem telling the noses apart is the fact that both Marielle's nose and Ray-Ray's nose become huge noses in male sims, so I wasn't sure if Berni had one or the other. Still, I think you're right, it was probably Marielle's and not Ray-Ray's.

See now I didn't even realize Ray-Ray had a bad nose! Lol, well at least it's Italian to have a distinctive nose. All three kids of the second generation are clones as I didn't know about rolling the dice back then so it's no wonder most of the kids got it. Must be that Nic is the only one to not have a large nose.

I actually like her nose, I was just saying it is in fact big. ;) I don't mind most of the distinctive noses that come with the face templates. Though it's unfortunate for sim boys how girls always end up better off with theirs.
Yes, now that you mention it, I can't remember anyone else in your legacy with a small/average-sized nose... Maybe only Tony and Amber's son? (Or does he have a large one too, and I'm mistaking him for someone else?)

Well, the typical Italian person (like the typical Spanish person and the typical Portuguese person) will have dark hair and eyes and a fairly large nose. But not always. There's an Italian girl in the same lab as me at university, and she has a nose a bit on the small side of average. And I remember Lala (from SWG) talked about how everyone in her family had the "Portuguese nose". Though most people (whose ancestors were actually born in said country for the last couple of generations, at least) will actually correspond to the "typical" looks. I, for one, don't have a large nose, but it still looks a bit weird, so it's no gain. :P

I'm learning new things at 6.44 in the morning. I didn't realize there was such a similarity between your country to Italy, but thinking about it it does make sense.
The only sims nose templates I really dislike is that one or two which seems extremely unnatural. All the rest have grown on me.

They're both in the Mediterranean area, so they're bound to be some similarities, yes.
I've also noticed, for example (from the 2 times I went there, the last time in 2008) that they're also very loud during meal times, always chatting and laughing. That makes me feel more at home, I guess - it's very different from other European counties, like England, for instance. The only time I went there was back in 2001 and I was still fairly young (10) and I remember being a little spooked at how cold and silent everyone was when compared to my country. Though I guess the UK is a better place to visit when you're no longer a kid - my sister went there back in 2009 or so (she was 14 at the time) and loved it.

I think that after so many years of playing this game, the only nose template I really dislike is the Carmen Patch/Gage Uglacy one. That nose looks so huge it's just not natural. (there might be one or two more I'm not too fond of, but right now it's not coming to mind)
