First of all, thank you to everyone who voted - I really appreciated it, especially given the Boolprop fiasco. :)

The Boolprop poll is actually open until sometime tomorrow, but it still has the same two votes, so I doubt anyone else will be voting. And I think no one else will be voting here at LJ. I actually asked my sister to pick a sim (based on the pictures only) a couple of days ago so that I could have a 7th vote, and all of these were enough. Besides, I really want to have a heir chosen so that I can keep playing and plan ahead.
So, at Boolprop, there was 1 vote for Bruna and 1 for Olive.
Here at LJ, there were 2 votes for Börje (Jo and Katmiester) and 2 for Olive (Amylu and...someone else, not sure who).
My sister voted for Bruna as well.
That makes a total of 2 votes for Börje, 2 for Bruna and 3 for Olive (and poor Oil got no votes).
Olive is now officially the gen 1 heiress. :)
And her 20 woohoos LTW won't be too much of a problem, since when I mentioned that I'd forgotten that I picked a bonus that includes making all the heirs into Grilled Cheese sims. Problem solved!(...ish). She might stay a Romance sim for a bit longer, especially if I manage to send her and Oil to college still (poor Börje and Bruna's grades were too low, and they were too close to the adult lifestage to be able to go).

Yay for Olive! :D

Ah yes, I'd forgotten you were doing the Beyond Cheesy bonus, it does make things easier if the heir has a difficult LTW with their original aspiration :)

I was going to ask if you would be sending them to college, I always find it easier to find my sims a spouse at college. :)

Olive rules! :D (But her siblings are also pretty awesome, all of them.)

Not the Beyond Cheesy bonus (that one would be way too difficult, I remember how [livejournal.com profile] fuzzy_spork had that bonus ruined in her OWBC by someone sneaking to the fridge and eating a bag of chips...), it's part of the set of bonuses that come with Nightlife - all 3 heirs/heiresses must be Grilled Cheese sims, but (fortunately for the whole family) the sims in the household don't need to eat nothing but grilled cheese.

I will try to send her and Oil to college...like I said, I wanted to send all of them, but it just wasn't possible with Börje and Bruna, who were 1 day away from adult and had no chance to improve their grades. Olive and Oil currently have F grades as well, but they're still 4 or 5 days away from adult, so I have a couple of days to try to improve their grades and then send them to college.

Congratulations to Olive. Good luck with the beyond cheesy, that was one challenge I thought would be super tough. Still it's better than some of those other LTW. Hope they get their grades up in time.

Olive rules! :D

It isn't the beyond cheesy mini-challenge (that one would be way too difficult for me to even think of trying), it's just one of the Nightlife bonuses that says all of the heirs must be Grilled Cheese sims (much easier than the beyond cheesy mini-challenge). So yeah, Olive will want to eat cheese all the time, but the rest of the household won't have to. ;)

It's been such a long time since I looked at the rules I forgot there were two cheesy challenges. A lot of people did do beyond cheesy but I decided with bad apple and simself mania I didn't have a hope with that one.

I think I wouldn't be able to do it even the way things are now in my challenge (non-bad apple heir and non-simself spouses). All it takes is a second of being distracted by whatever other sims in the household are doing, and a sim can just go to the fridge and eat something else. You'd need an insane level of micromanaging that I know I wouldn't be able to keep up for 3-4 generations.

If the sims didn't wreck it the servos surely would. I keep them powered down a lot of the time but 'make meal' seems to be at the top of their list of things to do when they are active. I guess the only way would be to make a pile of grilled cheese until the fridge was empty, put away left overs and then put up with them doing a foot stomp at the 'empty fridge' I think the micro managing is why I have put off playing and finishing (although I have found a 90% complete chapter which I will get up soon) The house is full of bad apples and simselves, and while I love them all they drive me somewhat crazy to play.

Yeah, I hadn't even remembered the servos (I rarely have servos in my sim households, OWBC or not). It would be maddening to play, with making someone keep the simselves and bad apples away from the fridge, not letting the servos prepare meals, etc.
Yes, your bad apple heirs are very well-behaved (when compared to the one bad apple I've had, at least) but still, that's a lot of sims in one house, and they do stupid things sometimes when left to themselves. But you were almost done, weren't you? If I remember correctly, you had all the generation 3 kids born already, and they were all kids or toddlers, right? (Does the challenge officially end when the gen 3 heir is an adult? Can't remember, really, I still have a long-ish way to go until that point.)

I thought I had played up to the youngest alien twins becoming kids, but last night when I went on a photo hunt I found some birthday pictures of the eldest child, Oz. So yes I'm not that far from being finished. Only thing is when I do go to play it I will have to remove a lot of mods like my double aging mod which will reset the house. Also I am not playing Uni so I will have him as a teen for another 15 days. Also it's not finished until the heir writes a novel. So hopefully everyone votes for Oz. The hood is an explosion waiting to happen as well so the sooner I can get through that and hopefully the WYD challenge, the sooner I can delete the whole thing.

Goodness that was a lot of 'as well' usage. lol.

Oh, so you really are close. :) The oldest twins aren't that much younger than Oz, though, right? And the younger twins are also pretty close in age to the older ones, at least that's what I remember... Since they're all close in age, maybe it won't be so bad if people choose one of the youngest ones as heir - alien children, especially cute ones, tend to do better in polls. (At least they used to.)
So you're going to make a LJ poll this time, since Boolprop is pretty much deserted now?
Are you going to extract your OWBC heirs and spares before deleting the 'hood? (I would be interested in having some of them in my game, just saying...) ;)

I've been very bad at uploading sims. I think I have them all extracted from back when I did my legacy house rebuild. What with Olida's brood (remember she is Opals sister and doing the WYDC?)I'm just not sure if I cloned them. So I guess I would have to do that again as purely extracted sims can be buggy and mess up peoples games.
I'm going to have to see if I can do some kind of family tree.

I think I'll load them up today, take some photos and post an heir poll here. I guess I should update my Boolprop thread at least.

I was just wondering if you had at least extracted them - since the 'hood is glitchy and you'll need to delete it post-challenges, you'll probably want to keep a copy of the sims around just in case. (I know I would, I'd probably end up missing some of the sims and/or wanting to use them for something else later on- other challenges, making some of them into townies in other neighbourhoods, etc.) :)

I remember Olinda was doing the WYDC, yes, she was up to kid...N? O? P maybe? I only seem to remember it was around that point, and that she seemed to have way more sons than daughters.

I'll be keeping an eye out for that poll. ;) As I said in your LJ, I'll probably be voting for Paddington or Coal, not sure which yet.

Oh, and FamilyEcho is a good site for family trees, way better than TribalPages is/was (at least in my opinion). I have my ATOR family tree on there and it has been working well so far. :)

Before I got no sim loaded and the hood checker I'd have said the hood might not even make the end of the OWBC, but that has helped fix a number of the bugs, so i'm hoping it will last through the WYDC before I nuke it.

I think she just had Q, so she is well on her way. Yes she did, good memory.

Poll is up. :D You can probably see the two I'm leaning towards lol. Mostly because of that long list of things to do. Normally I'd say 15 days of teenagerhood is ages, but suddenly it doesn't look so long, not when gen 2 still havn't done there challenges.

Thanks, I haven't done one before, but I thought that family deserved one.

That's good news, then! :)

Ah, so I wasn't too far off.

I went and voted. ;) 15 days might or not be enough depending of how you organize things/luck/etc. - what challenges do you still need to complete? (other than the Family Scrapbook by having the gen 3 heir write a novel)

I think they do too, I guess most people will remember the main household sims (Bazza & Tina, the gen 1 spares, Opal & Chewy, the gen 2 spares, Rolley & Holley and now the gen 3 kids), but maybe not the spares' children, and all of Olinda's children (not to mention their fathers).
And another great thing about FamilyEcho is that you can add everyone's picture...no picture limit like on TribalPages. I have pics for almost every sim in my ATOR tree, and that's 100+ pictures. :D

You do have a good memory, I can't even remember the names of my own sims half the time, let alone anyone else's lol.

All the challenges I mentioned on the poll. Heaps! Although as I said to lark it may be faster then I realize as I normally play with a heap of mods to make things harder and I've pulled them for the challenge.

It's not something that comes in handy, though, sometimes I can't remember details of things that can come up in exams (no matter how much I study them), and I can still remember the names and other stats of sim so-and-so. But it can be helpful when it comes to needing some sims' stats off the top of my head, don't need to look them up some of the times. It would be a real asset if only there was some sort of trivia contest about challenge stories and characters in the TS2 community. ;)

OK, so I'm guessing bug me not would be the hardest...don't have that EP as I've said, but from what I've seen, there are still quite a few bugs involved. Having the autumn (fall, whatever you want to call it) season roll around could help with the gold badge - and I suppose that it would help with the hobby too? (They're similar to skills, aren't they?) Then you'd need to get Rolley in a good mood (and probably away from Holley for a while) to work in the novel. And you can have photos instead of portraits (well, unless you prefer having portraits), I've been doing that part of the challenge with photos from the photo booth as it's easier. Will you have one of the servos and/or Peach painting them?
